The integrated logistics provider will roll out the Skypod system in their new warehouse in Nagoya, Japan.

Today, Exotec® Nihon Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, Managing Director Ryu Tatewaki), a wholly owned subsidiary of Exotec SAS (headquartered in Croix, France, CEO Romain Moulin), announced that Alps Logistics Co., Ltd. (Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan, CEO Masaru Usui), has decided to implement the Skypod® system in the company’s new warehouse in Nagoya, Japan.

Exotec’s automated goods-to-person solution, the Skypod system, utilizes robots that can reach a height of 12m (39 ft) to enable high-density inventory storage. The system helps automate manual physically intensive tasks and reduces the order fulfillment time by driving efficiency throughout the warehouse. In addition to the technology, Exotec offers end-to-end integration services starting from pre-system consultation all the way to continuous post-implementation maintenance. With the recent issues surrounding the logistics industry, including decarbonization and the ‘2024 Problem’, robotic solutions like Exotec play a key role in keeping the global supply chain up and running.

Alps Logistics is an ‘integrated logistics company providing transportation, storage, international freight forwarding, and material sales services. The company mainly serves electronic components companies that require specialized material handling techniques. Alps Logistics supports its customers’ production and logistics innovations by reducing excess inventory and cutting lead times. The partnership with Exotec will enable Alps Logistics to further improve the quality of services that the company offers to its customers in Japan.
