Modern Automation For Replenishing the Modern Grocery Store

Store replenishment is not one-size-fits-all. Every store requires uniquely configured, aisle-ready pallets, constant adaptation to demand shifts, and precise sequencing across thousands of SKUs. Fixed systems aren’t built for this level of variability, leading to inefficient flows, limited scalability, and stores that fall short of customer expectations.

Exotec combines integrated hardware and software into a single, orchestrated system, eliminating the need for layered, multi-vendor architectures. This reduces integration risk and ensures consistent throughput, accuracy, and uptime, even in complex environments where traditional systems struggle to maintain performance.

The Exotec Warehouse

Standardized Flows Across Different Temperature Zones

Ambient and chilled operations differ in storage, handling, and workflows—often requiring separate processes or facilities. This fragmentation can split a single store order across warehouses, increasing complexity, cost, and delays.

Exotec eliminates this divide with a common architecture across ambient and chilled built with modular building blocks for depalletization, case handling, storage, and palletization for outbound shipping. The result is a more coordinated operation that delivers store-ready orders.

Native case sequencing for optimized pallet building

In traditional systems, sequencing is treated as the final step before shipment, requiring dedicated buffer zones and sortation areas that consume valuable warehouse space.

With an Exotec solution, sequencing is built directly into the AS/RS. This reduces system complexity by minimizing hand-offs, improving space utilization, and producing higher-quality pallets. By giving greater control over store-specific logic, grocers can consistently deliver fully optimized pallets across their network.

Density and efficiency without compromise

Space is limited. Margins are tighter than ever. Every square foot and every labor hour matters. Traditional systems force trade-offs between density, flexibility, and performance, often requiring separate zones, buffers, conveyors, and handling equipment that consume valuable floor space and add complexity.

Exotec takes a different approach. With robots operating in 3D and storage reaching up to 14 meters high, the Skypod system leverages vertical space to maximize storage density. Because it requires significantly less fixed infrastructure and auxiliary equipment, more of the facility can be dedicated to storage.

What Our Customers Say

“It is not only a question of better selecting the products we sell, but also of acting on the way we store and transport them. With this carbon-neutral warehouse and the Exotec solution, Monoprix is asserting itself as a pioneer in logistics.”
