An expansion project to optimise responsiveness

Specialising in the manufacture of plumbing, heating and sanitary accessories for more than 3 generations, Ayor prepares 35 million products a year and has achieved double-digit growth for more than 5 years.

Always attentive to its customers’ needs, Ayor relies on its 11,000m² logistics platform to prepare and deliver items within 12 or 24 hours to distributors and craftsmen throughout Europe. Committed to the quality and responsiveness of its deliveries, Ayor has decided to streamline its entire supply chain in order to increase efficiency and remain one of the most responsive on the market. To achieve this, the company has selected the high-performance, scalable robotic solutions developed by Exotec to equip its new Logistics Platform 4.0, located at Marsac-sur-l’Isle.

A solution to accelerate customer satisfaction

No fewer than 37 Skypod® robots and 4 picking stations will equip this new building of almost 4,300 m². The aim is to automate up to 90% of order preparation lines and 80% of referencing.

In addition to the performance gains, Exotec’s solutions will replace the traditional order preparation system, which consists of trolleys, machines, shelving and pallets. This robotisation project, which will be fully operational in June 2024, will help to improve the quality and responsiveness of our deliveries, increase customer satisfaction and significantly improve working conditions for our operators by reducing their movements and repetitive movements, while enabling them to concentrate on higher added-value tasks.

Mickaël Hammel, Chairman of the Ayor Group, explains: “This major investment in the heart of our historic region is in line with our 3 strategic priorities: to continue to strengthen our industrial sovereignty, to offer fluid and innovative customer experiences, and to innovate in sustainable products and solutions that meet the challenges of our stakeholders. This 4.0 logistics centre will enable us to strengthen our logistics expertise, automate and digitise our logistics operations, and offer better working conditions for our employees in an innovative and resolutely eco-responsible building”.

Thomas Genestar, Managing Director Western Europe at Exotec, added: “We are delighted to be working with Ayor on this robotisation project. Our fast, high-performance Skypod® system guarantees efficient deliveries to the end customer, assembling an order in less than 2 minutes – a real asset when it comes to delivering to end customers in record time. Our solution has been designed to be flexible and scalable, maximising the profitability of each robot and enabling Ayor to maximise its investment in robotics while improving operational efficiency. This system will support Ayor’s double-digit growth in the years to come. A solution to accelerate customer satisfaction
