€25M investment to enhance performance, service quality, and working conditions
Lyreco, a global leader in workplace products and services, has completed a major modernization program at its logistics center in Villaines-la-Juhel (Mayenne, France). Launched in 2021 and representing more than €25 million in investment, this project marks a significant step in the company’s long-term transformation of its supply chain.
Responsible for around 60% of the 50,000 parcels shipped daily by Lyreco in France, the Villaines-la-Juhel site is one of the group’s most strategic logistics hubs.
As part of the modernization, Lyreco built a new 3,000-square-meter facility and integrated an advanced robotic solution developed by Exotec, the French pioneer in warehouse automation. The system optimizes large scale pallet preparation and order dispatch, enabling Lyreco to significantly improve operational performance.
Designed to improve productivity, service quality, and ergonomics simultaneously, the solution includes:
- An automated system for sequencing outbound flows
- Advanced algorithms for sorting and pallet building
- More than 100 Skypod® robots managing the buffering and organization of parcels prior to dispatch
- Ergonomic palletization stations for operator friendly pallet preparation
This transformation reinforces Lyreco’s commitment to operational excellence while providing teams with a safer and more efficient working environment.
