LOGILEC: THE CHOICE OF PERFORMANCE AND AGILITY
Logilec is a Mouvement E.Leclerc entity created in 1996. As a service provider, Logilec offers solutions to control and organize Leclerc’s supply chain. Always on the lookout for innovation, Logilec contacted us in 2018 to find out more about the performance and modularity of our robotized preparation solution. They were looking for a solution for an e-commerce application.
The project involved robotizing a warehouse that operated with pedestrian order pickers in a 5,000 m2 maze of shelves. Space was lacking, especially during the holiday surges, and it could no longer absorb their +30% annual growth rate.
In December 2018, Logilec ordered an Exotec system of 30,000 slots and about 50 robots. However, Logilec had to ensure operational continuity of the warehouse during the set up period, which made it necessary to plan the roll-out of our SKYPOD system in 2 phases.
The first phase involved the installation of nearly 10,000 bins and 6 goods-to-man workstations, which left enough space to continue processing orders with the old system. In in mid-July 2020 we added 20,000 bins and 2 workstations without any downtime or disruption.

Logilec’s productivity has gone from 30 lines per hour with manual picking to 200 lines per hour with robotized picking. The space gain is also very important, since the entire Skypod system only covers 3,000m2. This made the integration of other businesses possible, smart phones are under study, as well as as a potential BtoB activity to turn the site into a multi-channel site.
